THE DAILY CATCH

In 2015 I spent several weeks in Cornwall, with the intention of creating work for an exhibition at the Pigeon Hole Café in Camberwell, London.

By mirroring the journey of some of its seafood, I aimed to not only celebrate Cornwall’s incredible produce, but to also start a conversation about food provenance. During my stay, I met an array of fisherman, fishmongers and chefs and learnt much more that I had anticipated!

In many respects it was a fortuitous experience, leading to both a connection to the region and an affinity with painting seafood – something that has endured throughout my career.

The message of these pieces was shop small, shop locally and shop sustainably.
