Celebrating Devon’s diverse habitats, this collection of short films sought to inspire viewers to help protect the UK’s natural world – wherever they live. For each episode, I composed a specific motif based on the footage used. These illustrations helped viewers visualise the landscape
The series was a collaboration between WWF, Sky Ocean Rescue, North Devon UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, National Trust and the Environment Agency.

The films were created by Nina Constable and Mindfully Wired Communications. They can be viewed in full here.

Working with Mindfully Wired Communications I was commissioned again for the Leigh Seafood project. This time to illustrate a series of Leigh-on-Sea fishing scenes, comprising of some of the seafood trawlers and the iconic cockle sheds that line the harbour.

The aim of the Leigh Seafood project is to promote cockles, an incredible sustainable seafood, that in recent years has fallen out of fashion. The website encourages tourists to try to the local seafood by having a recipe section as well as explaining the history of fishing and cockles in Leigh in a bid to also encourage young people into the industry.

Working with a limited pallet to compliment the brand colours of the project, the illustrations created (in a departure from my usual watercolour) in gouache for a bolder, more vibrate look to appeal to the younger audience and help create a buzz around seafood again in the area.

These illustrations were used alongside the food spot illustrations on the website and social media channels of Leigh Seafood.
